Our little contribution towards saving the planet

Like everybody else around I too have used a plastic toothbrush since the time iv started brushing my teeth. Its something you would obviously find in every household.Tooth brushes are usually made with a combination of plastic ,rubber and nylon. In addition to the same these toothbrushes come in an additional plastic and cardboard packaging.Contributing in waste even more altogether.

I never know the concept of bamboo brushes until one day I came across them while surfing the internet.I thought of trying the same myself.

Bamboo India is a company that believes in firstly contributing to the environment. They have done a lot of research and come up finally with an alternative to plastic that is as durable as plastic itself. It is none other than bamboo.Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on this planet.

  • During their life span bamboo produces considerably more oxygen and binds considerably more CO2 than hard wood trees.
  • Bamboo also doesn’t require any chemical fertilizer to grow which protects the soil and does not add any chemicals to the environment.
  • After harvesting, virtually every part of the plant is used to make a wide variety of products. From soil-enriching mulch to beautiful furniture to chopsticks, every part of the plant can be utilized.

The products I received were 3 toothbrushes. As you can see in the above picture.2 of them are for adults and one of them is for a child. The one thing that is very unique is the design. There is absolutely no texture, colour or additional material in the tooth-brush.

It is just plain bamboo on the stick and with very soft bristles on the top.Usually kids find it hard gripping tooth brushes initially because they are so textured and have these fancy things on them.My daughter too started brushing her teeth recently and it is so easy for her to grip this particular toothbrush.

Generally dentists advice to change out toothbrush within the span of 3 months.Another reason why I love the bamboo toothbrush is because when we discard our bamboo toothbrush with the rubbish it decomposes with it.Whereas, the plastic toothbrushes remain intact for almost forever.Every toothbrush ever made is still on this earth.

  • Bamboo in nature is anti bacterial
  • Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on our planet
  • The special kind of nylon used for the bristles is 100% biodegradable
  • Makes it easy for kids to grip because of its simple structure
  • Even the box packing this comes in is again 100% biodegradable

This is my little contribution on replacing plastic and using something that is beneficial for our planet in future.

You can have a look at their variety of products RIGHT HERE

I hope you would order you bamboo tooth-brush soon,

Happy shopping !!
